Hazen logo

2007

12/2007: Hazen just completed a small site for Family Sound, a audio production studio. We did their identity, too.

7/16/2007: Hazen’s got a few things going in Print’s next Regional Design Annual. The launch ads Remedy did for Edward and the logo for Torn Together.

5/20/2007: Hazen is going to be in the new LogoLounge book, #4. We got three logos in this time: Joe the Baby, which is the company the Hazen’s established for all the kids’ shirts they come up with (that’s their son Finn in the “o”); a proposed design for Laurel Soup Wagon; and an all-time fave, the HazCom logo, which is short for “Hazen Communications,” the first incarnation of Hazen Creative.

5/2007: "I finally finished my Art*o*mat submission. My collages will be featured in one of their rehabbed cigarette vending machines. I created more than 50." —Shawn

5/17 & 5/18/2007: Shawn spent two days at the MCA for the IIT Design Strategy Conference—all focused on strategic design thinking for business. The highlights: Chris Anderson (Wired) duscussing technology converging on being free, and Roger L. Martin (Rotman School for business) with his astute and enlightening suggestions for business people getting along with us artsy-fartsy types—and vice versa.

5/10/2007: The Remedy sugar bag promo one a gold award at the RX Club (formerly the One Club RX, we think.)

2/9/2007: A nice little campaign for Elmhurst Hospital’s heart scan is now live. There are print ads, POP materials, Web banners, a billboard, and posters all based around this simple symbol of a heart-turned-question-mark developed to express the idea: do you know what’s going on with your heart?

1/15/2007: The latest installment in the Jackson Square Design Walk poster series is back from the printer. This one’s green and more abstract than the others. But it still plays with street sign-like symbols, but this time the idea of “modern” comes across in the cool pattern created out of the arrows.

1/11/2007: Shawn’s been accepted to Art*o*mat! It’s not a design thing, strictly speaking. Art*o*mat is the group that rehabs old cigarette vending machines to dispense fine art. Shawn’s collages will be featured in a machine somewhere in the country—or the world. Now he’s gotta get cracking and make 50 pieces!.

1/2007: It hasn’t officially “launched” yet, but The Flavor is now live. This is the latest guise for a URL we’ve had since 1997. We’ve finally got a good use for it: Lisa, and Shawn Hazen are using it as a blog about design. They’re trying to get a nice body of entries up there before we tell the world..

1/2007: The stationery for Mozaic Mindz has just been printed. It turned out great. The new identity was applied to business cards, two letterheads, and envelopes. The three colors really highlight the new logo and the fun typographic texture.
