Hazen creates imagery for the New Leaf Theatre that metaphorically represent their complex stories. The first image is for "Six Years" a play that checks in with a family every six years to watch them evolve in ways they never imagined. The style reflects a new visual direction for this season. The second image shows last year's look with “Girl in the Goldfish Bowl,”in which a precocious 10-year old shows us the end of her childhood when her crackpot family finally falls apart one strange day in 1962. Also from last season, "The Dining Room" is set in the same dining room in different decades, with many vignettes illustrating how the other people in our lives shape who we become.
