Barack Obama Artwork
Hazen designed two pieces for the Manifest Change competition and exhibit, featuring art inspired by Barack Obama’s campaign.
Out of nearly 1,200 entries, this poster was one of only 5 winners. An esteemed panels of judges including Guggenheim Modern Art Curator Nancy Spector, musician Moby, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, and artist and designer Shepard Fairey chose the 5 winning pieces.
It was exhibited in Denver for the Democratic National Convention and then auctioned off to benefit Obama’s campaign.
Hazen’s other entry, visible in images 3 through 5, was one of the 31 finalists as well.
